Judy Blume grew up in Elizabeth until she was eight.She was born on February 12, 1938. Judy went to school In New Jersey and in Florida. She did well in school, and outside of school she took b00412059.jpgallet lessons, enjoyed movies and radio shows and loved to read.01102492.jpg
Judy’s favorite book when she was young was Madeline by Ludwig Bemelmans. She loved it so much that she copied the book from the library.

In 1996, Blume won a major award for authors. It is the Margaret A. Edwards Awards for Lifetime achievement. She’s also founded a charity for children, The Kids Fund.She also recieved a B.S. in educatioin form New York University in 1961,which named her a distinguished Alumna.
